I soooo want Boris to be our next Prime Minister (we have a queen as head of state unlike you heathens you lot in the new world!). I think everyone, regardless of their political leanings, would vote for him, he is that awesome! :)

Boris Johnson has given up (or shortly will) his U.S. passport called it ‘an accident of birth’ and that ‘’The reason I’m thinking I probably will want to make a change is that my commitment is, and always has been, to Britain,’’.

Did you know that just by being born in the U.S. means you have to pay U.S. taxes if your earnings (after paying the tax of the country of which you now reside in) exceeds £35,000 a year.

The only way to no longer pay U.S. taxes is to give up U.S. citizenship and the U.S. has essentially a roll-call of shame where everyone who has is put on a list which is open for anyone to see.

Boris Johnson is to renounce his US citizenship, removing a potential obstacle to becoming Prime Minister.

The London mayor has dual nationality as he was born in New York - but has now revealed he wants to hand back his American passport.

‘’The reason I’m thinking I probably will want to make a change is that my commitment is, and always has been, to Britain,’’ he told the Sunday Times during a week-long tour in the States.

‘’It’s an accident of birth that has left me with this thing. I’ve got to find a way of sorting it out.’’

Mr Johnson - who is running for parliament in Uxbridge and South Ruislip - said he would approach US ambassador Matthew Barzun about the change. ‘’It is a laborious business. They don’t make it easy for you,’’ he added.

Constitutional experts believe dual nationality would not present any technical barrier to Mr Johnson becoming prime minister, but he would be likely to face questions about his loyalties.

Aides said the mayor’s priority was to avoid paying more to the US tax authorities, after he was recently forced to settle a large capital gains tax bill.

It wouldn’t even have to be a tough pub. Even a wine bar or bistro would be suitably pissed with him. He’s an absolute buffoon and sadly too many U.S. people have been seen to agree with what he says.
